Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals

For information regarding weddings at Peace, please consult the Wedding Planning Guide.

Baptism is the beginning of a journey with God in Christ.  At baptism, we promise to help the newly baptized grow in faith, to learn the stories of God at work in the world, to be there when he or she has questions, to be present for the milestone moments, and to join with him or her in the journey of faith.  Baptism is one of two sacraments in the Lutheran church (the other is Holy Communion).  Whenever water is joined with God’s Word, God promises to be present.

If you desire to be baptized, or would like to have your child baptized, please call Jan in the church office at (608) 849-7322 or email You can schedule a baptism for any of our worship services: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm (mid-September through April), Saturdays at 5 pm, or Sundays at 9 am.

Once we hear from you, one of the pastors will contact the parents and/or person to be baptized to confirm the date, talk about what baptism means and what will happen on the day of the baptism.
